What's in the build

Six pieces, one workflow.

Daily reports, snags, RFIs, sign-off, costs — one site app, every trade.

01 · Daily site report

Trade by trade. Photo-rich. Time-stamped.

Site manager logs end-of-day: trades on site, hours, weather, deliveries, incidents. Photos attached. Synced to office. The Monday-morning meeting actually has the data.

  • Trade-hours by day
  • Weather + delivery log
  • Photo capture
  • Auto-sync to office
02 · Snag list

From walk-around to fixed.

Mobile snag capture: photo, location on plan, trade assigned, severity. Trade gets the list; closure photo confirms fix. The snag log doesn't grow forever.

  • Photo + plan-pinned
  • Trade assignment
  • Closure photo
  • Open-snag dashboard
03 · RFI workflow

Question to answer, with timestamps.

RFI raised on site; routed to design / consultant; SLA timer. Answer captured against the drawing. The decision sits in the file forever.

  • RFI raise on mobile
  • Routing to consultant
  • SLA-timed
  • Drawing-pinned answer
04 · Cost tracking

Spent vs budgeted, by package.

Supplier orders, sub-contractor invoices, labour — coded to packages. Live spent-vs-budget. Variance flagged before the surprise.

  • Per-package spend
  • Live vs budget
  • Variance flagging
  • Forecast-to-complete
05 · Sign-off & inspections

Building control, client, ours — all on one record.

Inspection workflows for building control, client, and internal QA. Photo evidence, signature capture, decision logged. Hand-over pack auto-generated.

  • Multi-party inspections
  • Signature capture
  • Auto hand-over pack
  • Building-control trail
06 · Reporting

Programme vs actual. Cost vs budget.

Live: programme slip per package, cost vs budget by trade, snag burn-down, RFI age, change-order pipeline. The QS doesn't fly blind.

  • Programme dashboard
  • Cost-vs-budget board
  • Snag burn-down
  • Change-order pipeline
Sample engagement

The fit-out contractor that closed projects with the snag list at zero.

Four sites. Eight site managers. Excel and WhatsApp.

A commercial fit-out contractor ran daily reports on Excel, snags on WhatsApp groups, and RFIs on email. Average project handover took six weeks of post-completion snag chasing. We shipped a site app with snag, RFI, and cost tracking. Three months in: handover snag-list at zero on completion day for two of three new projects, RFI average response 1.4 days, cost variance caught 4 weeks earlier on a heritage refurb.

How we measure: Handover snag count measured at practical completion, RFI response measured from raise to answer (n = 86 over 8 weeks), cost variance measured against monthly forecast.
