An accountant who learned to write code.
PYJ Advisory pairs a chartered finance brain with a working stack — building the systems service businesses actually run on, after diagnosing what's leaking on the P&L.
Why this firm exists.
Most service businesses we sit across from are running on six tools that don't talk, two spreadsheets that don't reconcile, and a WhatsApp group nobody owns. The P&L tells the truth — late, and in PDF. The build, when it comes, is a website, or a booking widget, or whatever the agency is selling that quarter. Rarely the thing that would have moved the bottom line.
The firm started with a chartered accountant who learned to write code. PYJ Advisory is the firm we wished existed for the businesses we used to do books for — one that reads the numbers first, finds the row that's bleeding, and writes the smallest system that closes it. Not a service menu. A method.
We don't do retainers. We don't lock clients in. The build gets handed over with code, data, and accounts — yours. We stay around for the months it takes to stabilise. Then we're gone, unless you want us back.
How we read a business.
Two weeks of audit before any code. Every leak gets a number with a reason next to it. The shared sheet is yours; we work in it together. By the end, you have a ranked list of leaks, three estimated builds, and a fixed price on the first one.
We work with service businesses with five-to-fifty staff and physical premises — clinics, salons, restaurants, studios, retailers, trades — and with professional services firms where the partner's time is the unit of revenue. The method holds across both. The stack changes per industry; the diagnosis doesn't.
“Read your P&L. Write your code.”
The shape of a typical engagement.
What we do, what we won't.
Diagnose before we build.
Two weeks of audit, every time. The build follows the leak.
Hand over fully.
Code, data, accounts. Owned by you. The opposite of vendor lock-in.
Quote fixed price.
Audit is fixed-fee. Builds are fixed-price, fixed-timeline. No hourly retainer.
Sell a service menu.
We don't pitch websites or apps. We pitch closing the row that's bleeding.
Lock you into our stack.
Open source, owned-by-you databases, exportable everything. No proprietary platform.
Work without seeing the P&L.
If we can't read the numbers, we can't find the leak. The audit doesn't happen otherwise.

One call. No deck. We come prepared.
